Survey of Corporate Law Department Diversity

Goal: To Compile Demographic Benchmarking Data on Direct Reports to the GC and Total In-House Attorney Population

The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has annually published a report on diversity at the general counsel-level of America’s 500 largest corporations. However, prior to this survey, there has been no data available on overall diversity within corporate legal departments and among its leadership, particularly companies outside the Fortune 500.

MCCA believes that America’s corporate law departments are fairly diverse and that corporations are making significant strides internally. However, it would like to start to annually report on the demographics of in-house counsel who work at both large and small companies.

Through participation in this survey, you will assist MCCA to capture a meaningful snapshot of the diversity of the in-house bar. You will also aid in producing an annual metric against which to benchmark your organization, including through comparison of the composition of your law department to peer industry averages and law departments of similar size.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
